Open Source Web Tools: Blogs

Blog links

  • Blogger: a free blogging website. Allows you to share blog entries, links, social media, or any other form of content with your followers, all from one central page.
  • Kidblog: designed to allow elementary and middle school teachers to provide free, secure blogs to each of their students, without the use of personal email addresses.
  • Twitter: a free micro-blogging/social media service. Posts, called "tweets," are limited to 140 characters. Tweets can include hashtags that are tracked globally, so you can see who is talking about the same topic.
  • Weebly: a free website or blog maker. You can choose from hundreds of professional looking themes, and the sites are easy to build and manage. One of the only website makers without forced advertising!
  • WordPress: a free blogging website. Allows you to view your blog statistics, easily upload photos or integrate with Photobucket or Flickr, and you can even import an existing blog from another website.
