Mohn Hall, originally North Hall, was renamed on Alumni Day, 1980. North Hall had been built in 1962 and dedicated on October 30. It was constructed because the student body had been growing quickly. In 1978 it had lounges and additional recreational facilities. Also, the male students lived on the first and second floors, and the female students lived on the third and fourth floors. This was the first co-educational residence hall. This was the fifth dormitory to be built for the college. The name was changed to honor Jeremiah Mohn and his family, as they were huge contributors to the college. It has always been a dormitory and currently houses most of the honors students on campus. The Mohn family contributed not only their own money, but more than three of the adults were teachers are one of Albright's many historical institutions.
