Celebrate National Poetry Month

April is National Poetry Month! Its goals are to:

  • highlight the extraordinary legacy and ongoing achievement of American poets
  • encourage the reading of poems
  • assist teachers in bringing poetry into their classrooms
  • increase the attention paid to poetry by national and local media
  • encourage increased publication and distribution of poetry books, and
  • encourage support for poets and poetry.

This topic guide features favorite published poems submitted by members of the Albright College community. Library staff will select one poem each day to send to the Employee Community Email

We hope that this will inspire the campus community to explore the wonderful world of poetry.

Submit your favorite poem!

Celebrate National Poetry Month in April with Gingrich Library! Do you have a favorite poem you’d like to share? Submit it using this form or the QR code below. During the month of April, library staff will select one poem to send daily to the Employee Community Email and weekly to the OSIL Newsletter, but YOU are not limited to only one submission!

All submissions will be listed in the tabs at the top of this guide. A snippet of the poem, and a link to the complete poem (or a citation, if it is not available online), will be included.
