Interlibrary Loan (ILL) enables Albright College faculty, staff, and students to obtain books, journal articles, DVDs, and other material not available at Gingrich Library. Simply complete the form with the information about the item you're requesting, and library staff will take care of the rest. Many of the library's databases have a link to the form and will often prepopulate it with the necessary information.
Why is it interlibrary loan? Technically, Gingrich Library borrows or obtains your requested item from another library. Articles and book chapters that you receive electronically are yours to keep; however, physical items like books and DVDs are actually lent to us, and then we alert you to pick up the item at the CCM. This is one of the reasons that we cannot borrow ebooks, as another library cannot give us credentials to use with their licensed material.
Do you have questions about ILL? Check our extensive FAQ or email library staff at libraryill@albright.edu.
