Hip Hop Resource Guide: Using Databases to Find Articles

Use the Journal Locator to find the journals to which the Library subscribes. The Library subscribes to over 300 journals about music. A few are:

• The Journal of Hip Hop Studies (2014-2019)

Use these databases to find articles by conducting a keyword search or using subject headings:

• Literary Reference Center Plus
• SocINDEX (also known as Sociological Abstracts) covers all aspects of sociology.
• Academic Search Complete covers a broad range of important areas of academic study including music, women's studies, ethnic and multicultural studies
• JSTOR is a collection of electronic journals and coverage depends on the title of the journal.
• Project MUSE provides full-text scholarly articles pertaining to both the Humanities and Social Science.
