American Accounting Association.  The largest community of accountants in academia. Founded in 1916, we have a rich and reputable history built on leading-edge research and publications. American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).  The national professional organization for Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) in the United States. The AICPA’s mission is to provide members with the resources, information and leadership that enable them to provide valuable services in the highest professional manner to benefit the public, employers and clients. In fulfilling its mission, the AICPA works with state CPA organizations and gives priority to those areas where public reliance on CPA skills is most significant.  

Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB).  The designated organization in the private sector for establishing standards of financial accounting that govern the preparation of financial reports by nongovernmental organizations. Those standards are officially recognized as authoritative by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

IFRS.  "The IFRS® Foundation is a not-for-profit international organization responsible for developing a single set of high-quality global accounting standards, known as IFRS Standards."

Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA).  The professional association of certified public accountants in PA working together to improve the profession and better serve the public interest.
